Emmy Awards Well Played: Chloe Sevigny

You guys, I know this may rock you like a hurricane, but: I think The Sev might've been one of my favorites from last night.

Love the dots, like the yellow slip underneath that gives it an ethereal sheen, love the hip brooch... not sure what to make of the hair -- is it edgy, or just lazy? -- but at least it doesn't distract from her dress or look like a mangy rope of fake tresses borrowed from an old Star Trek movie (ahem, Blake Lively's Braid Thing).

And my good will is so robust that I might even be okay with this:

We here at GFY have a well-documented affection for Jason Segel (and an ongoing war with his hair, although it looks fine here, FINALLY, thank GOD). Like, we'd consider hiring him on as a sub-intern -- working under George of course -- when he decides to quit acting and get a REAL job buying our Diet Coke and massaging our egos and watching Muppet Show DVDs with us when we're procrastinating and playing songs on my piano that he makes up on the spot, all about blogging. It would be a regular variety show up in here. So it might seem odd that I've decided to start a rumor that he and Chloe Sevigny, the crown princess of fuggery and purveyor of heinous spandex ensembles, are having a torrid affair. But she's so damn good on Big Love, and he's so charming and funny, that I think I'm going to give their union my blessing. And I still like her dress.

Also, is that Robyn Lively of Teen Witch fame (and big sister of Blake)? Where has SHE been? Surely there's room for her on The CW somewhere. Or maybe Bill Henrickson needs another fourth wife, since the last fourth wife didn't really work out. Somebody please talk to Robyn's people. Her character in Teen Witch would've loved Chloe's Opening Ceremony line, so at least they'll get along like a house on fire.

Nope, we wrote the whole thing fresh, just for you.

Awesome. In that case, I want to read it!
