The Hills is going to be a little weird without Lauren Conrad. Because as boring as she'd gotten on the show -- understandably, since she developed an actual romantic and professional life outside the confines of the show's blurred reality and that would make me Over It also -- she was its heart and soul, and without her there's really nothing to root for except perhaps the onset of a raging case of crabs in Chez Pratt.
Still, MTV is trying, including making sure as many of its stars are visible as possible. Starting with Lauren Bosworth:
I really like this on Lo. It seems to fit -- which is more than I can say for those jeans -- and it skims her figure without skewing its proportions. The makeup is a bit heavy for her, though. I keep thinking of The Joker. In all, though, this is harmlessly cute and replete with the kind of wavy blonde sweetness that Lauren Conrad used to give the show, which probably means Lo is expected to fill the Everygirl role now and is going to have to practice her very best concerned expressions and the art of shedding one single tear, so that MTV will have plenty of ways to smash to commercial off her inner turmoil.

I actually like this dress -- it gives her a gentle waist, and the print is interesting -- but LC's hair and makeup do absolutely nothing for her OR for me. I know I was just complaining about Lo's aggressively crimson lips, but at least she looks like she HAS some. Note to starlets: Your mouth shouldn't match your tanning formula.
Speaking of tan:
HONEY. There is something phenomenally creepy about how much Stephanie Pratt has turned herself into Heidi -- her brother's wife. She's gone blonder, longer (read: probably faker), tanner, nakeder, and above all, skinnier. That incredibly uncomfortable Us Weekly cover story, in which she talked about her Hills-induced eating disorder and then danced around whether or not she's okay now, came right before she dropped a ton of weight and became a toasted toothpick in heels. I am concerned for her. Also, she's wearing lingerie with a tail. None of this is good. She's two man-made lady lumps and some Restylene away from looking as plastic and bony as her sister-in-law does, and I would really rather she was one meatball sub away from being her old self, which was perfectly lovely and slim and healthy. GIRL. Get off that show before The Full Montag happens to you.
